About us
Out @ Collin is the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered, Queer, Identifying and Ally student organization at Collin County Community College. Our organization has members at each of the three main campuses (PRC, SCC, CPC) and we welcome all Collin students regardless of orientation to join OUT.
We have one general member meeting a month where we plan events and talk about current events. We normally end the meeting with a board game or hanging out to talk. Meetings are on Tuesday evenings since our advisor teaches during the day.
We aim for one project a month-- in the past we've helped rebuild homes in Dallas, run fundraisers for Dallas AIDS non-profits, and we hosted the second largest display of the AIDS Memorial Quilt in honor of World AIDS Day 2007. We often work with the community, and other local GLBT organizations. Times for these events vary-- last years home rebuild was on a Saturday and went all day.
We have several social mixers each year, we go to the movies, we went bowling this fall. We'd love to go paintballing and camping in the future. OUT is very casual, and very positive. There's normally ten to fifteen people at the meetings, and everyone's encouraged to bring friends.
We're continuously adding to our schedule, so come to a meeting or drop us an email to get out with OUT
